Adams Food Unveils New Range Of Functional Ingredients

Adams Food Ingredients, the functional ingredients division of The Irish Dairy Board, has introduced a range of additives, which the company says, will help food manufacturers enhance the health and nutritional values of their products.

The company claims that the range has been designed to reduce fat content, lower levels of cholesterol and sugar in foods, increase fiber content, and fortify foods. Health benefits range from helping to prevent coronary heart disease to supporting the growth of healthy bones and teeth.

The range includes products such as B-Can Oat Beta Glucan, Zueit Brand Sucralose, Cowcium Natural Milk Calcium, Proti-Germ Defatted Wheat Germ and Foamex Quillaja Extract Powder. The company said that it is also able to blend these ingredients with other functional ingredients to deliver efficiencies in cost and formulation.

According to the company, the applications of this new line of ingredients include breakfast cereals, yoghurts, beverages, batters and coatings and other baked items.
